@FailForward @ypc_bunsen @freemo I did consider moving or having an alt but I’m not sure I really want to interact people who already blocked me transitively by blocking QOTO. All because they didn’t like the personality of an admin or one outreach attempt(in the most recent round of blocking).I am missing out on other’s voices that aren’t involved in the blocking but at the same time for me the decision is to stay. I get that some people when they say free speech mean hate speech, and I have blocked those people. But I also don’t agree with people on the other side of the spectrum that block entire swathes of people for the reason they don’t like an opinion or a style of communicating.

Very appreciative for the gentle encouragement of @PHolder to embark on the Advent of Code Challenge. I complete the first day of challenges using C.One thing I was wondering is ok to post solutions to the challenges or no?TIL:- IBM has easy to understand C documentation that's less opaque than the Linux documentation for me. Example: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.4?topic=functions-fgets-read-string- sorting an array is not that easy. the function I used was qsort() and you have to implement a comparator. I adapted the comparator from here: https://en.cppreference.com/w/c/algorithm/qsort. The only difference is I used uint64_t for everything(not sure if it was the best choice but it had all the room I needed).- To read a bunch of numbers from a file I couldn't get fscanf) to work well because it skipped over blank lines I read in as uint64_t so I couldn't figure out where each set of numbers ended. I had better luck with a combo of fgets() and stroull().I actually really couldn't believe I finished it. The satisfaction of eventually getting something working in C is real!#adventOfCode

@JimDMac as a 90s/early 2000s kid we at least had the threat of a security camera although I don’t think they actually worked. In general I’m wary of surveillance but have cameras on the way to/at a school is hard to say no to as a parent.

I just got and accepted an offer to become a junior embedded software engineer! It took family, mentors at my company, people on Twitter when I belonged there and also many kind people on Mastodon.@PHolder, I specifically was able to draw on the unit testing discussion and my attempts at C programming from advent of code during our interview.
