@futurebird Kyle Hill (a real guy, despite looking like Thor) did a good dive into the "AI Science Spam" problem on YouTube here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McM3CfDjGs0Since he does fun, yet accurate, SCIENCE!-related videos to teach people about SCIENCE!, he has a personal interest, not only because this AI slop competes with him, but because they steal his content to make it!He mentions he has a hobby of reporting every one he can find, and what does YouTube do about it? Meh... It's content!

@futurebird You might have been thinking of Boodler?https://github.com/erkyrath/boodlerLooks like it hasn't been touched in a decade and a half and more. It used to be able to take various input sound files and mix them in random ways to get unique soundscapes each time. I was particularly fond of frogs.Unfortunately I don't know of anything newer off the top of my head.

@foone 2.15m long if we're using 2.54mm spacing, which I looked up as JDEC standard for DIP pins, for a DIP-style i9-14000. The i9 14th gen uses LGA 1700, which apparently has 1700 connector pins on it. Go figure. The math does itself after that. This does not take into consideration alternate layouts for the CPU transistors or anything like that.I really expected it to be much, much longer. This is almost do-able. Next step: design the heat-sink for that beast.

@historyofpunkrock Wasn't my "greatest" but maybe "most memorable." We saw Agnostic Front open for Squirrel Nut Zippers. The crowd was totally into Agnostic Front and that's who everyone was there to see. Zippers come on and the floor cleared out. I felt kinda bad for them, but I never liked their brand of ska much anyway.I also saw Misfits on their 2000 Halloween meltdown tour. Graves and Chud had quit the night before. It was a pretty sad show but Jerry tried really hard.

@futurebird a very basic (no pun intended) "choose your own adventure" with programming statements? label each sticker and under the scrach-off is the next "programming" instruction to go to the appropriate sticker? I dunno, that's just a top-of-the-head and probably painfully inefficient idea.

@foone "Infinity Jules" is also what you get when you replay Samuel L Jackson's scenes in Pulp Fiction on repeat forever.

@foone We tried that already, back in the 90s. You can read this news article on why it failed:https://theonion.com/super-monkey-collider-loses-funding-1819564070/

Looking for some info/advice from non-CIS/Trans/etc Mastofolks. My 20 y/o daughter has recently been considering if she's trans. I of course support her in anything she does, but "maybe" is not a good option for this kind of life-altering decision. She is an adult and can do whatever she wants obviously, but this is the kind of thing to be absolutely sure about, not "maybe." Looking for resources, advice, whatever, both for myself and things I can gently suggest to her to maybe help her figure things out. (FWIW - dear friend of mine's F2M child just started HRT after years of therapy and discussion, so I'm somewhat familiar with the sort of thing that maybe should go into a decision like this.)@alice gratefully imposing on you to please boost this to the wider community, since you know absolutely everyone. 🥰 Thank you for anything you can suggest/inform.

I should clarify it a little bit - she has barely mentioned it to me. Her mom and I are divorced, so I don't know if she's talking about it with her mom. The little I've heard is a passing comment from her on a phone call that she's "thinking about seeing a Dr" about HRT and her brother mentioning it to me. I don't get to see/talk with her often, so some of this is admittedly second-hand. Regardless, I am still concerned? worried? not about the outcome, but that she is sure before she goes through anything.

@ricci This is a joke, but I recently had to make a password that included "special" characters, but they filtered out - essentially - all the SQL reserved characters as "invalid".
