Now that genital mutilation of children is back in the mainstream are we going to see some amazing Castrato singers in the coming years?

       >A study on eunuchs has found that they live 13.5 years longer than non-eunuch men as a result of a lack of testosterone, which reduces the likelihood of participation in risky behaviors, such as violence.[231]Reminder that there is literally no reason to oppose the reintroduction of eunuchs in modern life if the child consents.

Either Wireguard's claim of simplicity need to be taken with a grain of salt or I'm so severely mentally challenged that it took me 4 hours to fail to sort out a DNS issue with it.

Reminder that an epic isn't an epic without a pointlessly long and tedious catalogue of trivia.Homer has his catalogue of ships.Milton has his catalogue of demonic hosts.DFW has his catalogue of films.

       >The conversation turned to Poulenc. He and his father attended a piano recital given by Poulenc in which the Mouvements Perpétuels were played. They are extremely close to the Balalaika of Stravinsky’s piano four-hands music (later orchestrated). After hearing this, Igor turned to his son and commented: “This isn’t stealing, it’s kleptomania!”

       >the Debian postgres folder defaults to /var/lib/postgres but the Alpine postgres folder defaults to /var/lib/postgresqlThat was a great discovery after spending an hour of being confused by why docker is constantly creating new volumes and ignoring the ones I supplied.

Ockeghem's melodies are incredible. They're so weird and jagged and the rhythm is all over the place, common devices like imitation are hidden and changed ever so slightly so that it never becomes fully comfortable. The climaxes of voices are arranged in a staggered fashion and never fit together. It would probably be wrong to refer to him as the last medieval composer, but after his death there is definitely a sense that a great deal has been lost to music.

Also, infuriating as it is, I've yet to find a fully satisfying recording of Ockeghem's Mi-mi mass. The English ensembles (Clerk's, Hilliard) play it a bit too safe, TSatF is a tad dull and Copenhagen is too fast. The only really decent one is Capella Pratensis but my God do they go all out on the swells, listening to it on headphones can make you seasick.

This recording of the C minor passacaglia is so stunning that I didn't realise it took less than 10 minutes.
