@be @alcinnz If you put in the basics, even if the UX is terrible, potential users could experiment and give suggestions. Just show Mixxx is willing to listen and work with different requirements that still achieves the mission of Mixxx to allow 'all DJs' perform live music.P.S. I've never DJed or used Mixxx

@be @pitermach @alcinnz callouts can be right place, right time. Having failure doesn't mean you should stop, just review the tactics. Especially for people who have been marginalised, it'll take more than one go. As Piotr said, they are out there.

@ParadeGrotesque @rysiek @alcinnz they can create a file manager to do everything they want. It'll just look like a cockpit and it'll be way harder to learn than bash.I tried apps that batch files and they are always too much work to use and the skills don't translate anything else.

@MrTWatson @blindscribe the vaccines do work but not how the media advertised it. The vaccine trains your body to fight. The training is only useful if your body gets invaded. The virus is always evolving. Infecting more people gives it more of a chance to mutate in a way that our body cannot see it. Vaccines don't increase the mutation rate. It is different to antibiotics, they directly attack bacteria, while vaccines only mimic viruses to train your body.

@MrTWatson @blindscribe so you may think there may be an issue. This does not mean the vaccine is not working. There are only 2 rna vaccines so we may see a difference in the future. All vaccines *reduce* hospitalisations, death and transmission.

@uoya the software my company writes does not work on the M1 and we need to do a lot of work. So a lot of old software will not work. When the M2, M3, MX comes out, will your hardware and software be supported?

@hn250 interesting, I never did calculus in highschool and went on to do physics at University. Long after uni I enjoy watching maths videos and doing some of the basic maths to see how different aspects of maths is connected and apply to life. I feel like this is a good approach so people see maths all around them and how it's connected. Outside of uni you don't do pure maths, but knowing is important.

@kyle I was always a fan of Tesla as they were the first mover and made cool cars. But they have gone down the path of Apple and now I want to get another electronic car maker that'll care for their customers.

@nosat @downey @daveshuken @be vaccines are very good to reduce deaths and serious illness. It also reduces spread and lowers the potential R value. If the aim is to stop spread at a conference then mask requirements, hygiene, and distance is best.In WA we locked our borders so we could live our normal lives. When most people where triple vaxed we opened up and the spread happened but we had low deaths and hospitalisations. Totally worth it!
