2c/ by judgements against companies that properly factor economics into the penalty; judgements that do more than increase the cost of business when, for example, advertising firms twist companies into sensationalism or make deceptive business models cheaper than honest alternatives.

3a/ They don't want to set a bad precedent, so they allow illegal actions (libel/slander/anti-competitve practices) to go unpunished. Reduce the importance of case law.

3b/ They don't have an opportunity to act. As long as there are many more good judges than bad, the problem is one of surface area (like surface area limiting the rate of chemical reactions). Increase this by adding a mechanism beyond the hierarchical appeals process for judges to review actions of other judges. Hierarchies reduce the surface area as bad decisions are appealed.

3c/ They are cowards. Red-team judges before they are allowed into higher offices. Put (fake) cases on their docket that require them to act against their interests and gauge their reaction. The military uses drills to keep troops ready. Drill judges. A single bad drill doesn't kick you out of the army, but a lot of them prevent promotion. Up or out.

4a/ Force a cost on judges who make illegal decisions or neglect to perform their duty. It should not be a steep cliff (one mistake and your career/life is over) but something that reduces their influence as they are censured. A judicial review panel, for interest. The composition would be either peers (judges) or external (community members, people from the legislative or executive branch, but not DAs or trial lawyers whose complaints might provide guidance to the panel).

@EngOnDemand @Almighty Is he upset by what's going on?I'd be happy to think so, but I often wonder. His physics, engineering, and business skills are amazing. But he does a lot of foolish things, too.I do think he realizes that if he wants to sell electric trucks, he can't be openly contemptuous of his customers. This puts him far from the gutter Cook, Dorsey, Zuckerberg, and Pichai are digging, but I don't know that he is an enemy of what leftists are calling "progress" these days.

@Debradelai I wouldn't think it was possible except I keep hearing of Trump studying the idea. If anyone could make it work, he could.

@Clayrjr @Debradelai 🤪I think the biggest problem in founding a 3rd party is finding a mascot that could take out a donkey and an elephant. But perhaps Mike Lindell has done extensive research and hired experts who can solve this pressing issue. If only he could get back in to see Trump!!

@timr While you are correct that Grisham will not be term-limited, the NM constitution has a [2-consecutive-term limit](https://codes.findlaw.com/nm/new-mexico-constitution/nm-const-art-v-sect-1.html).

@timr I haven't found anything from the NM GOP about potential contenders, but it might be good to start a list of issues for candidates. The Keystone XL permit revocation is one such. Although it only directly counts for $0.4bn of NM's $7-8bn revenue, NM is a big source of fossil fuels and indirectly it surely accounts for more.
