       @ms @OpenBSDAms Both because I wanted my #DNS to be portable (if I ever wanted to switch providers) and because I was concerned about hosting companies monetizing DNS traffic, I opted to continue running my own server. One primary on an OpenBSD VPS running NSD, two secondaries at a friend’s ISP, forwarders at #Quad9. Works fine.

       @ncweaver @ai6yr I read somewhere that no DC-3 ever experienced spontaneous structural failure (something not caused by a crash or getting shot at). This is an artifact of the pre-CAD days when large fudge factors were common. A lack of pressurization probably also helped reduce metal fatigue.

       @ai6yr This is conjecture, but I wonder if the initial failure was at the Ti/carbon lug joining the seat and top tubes, which then triggered a fracture at a weak spot on the down tube – one of the holes for a bottle cage.This concerns me as the owner of a late 1990s Ti frame. I bought the frame instead of a Seven, a carbon/Ti design like the Lemond, in part because of fears of lug/tube flexibility and separation.
