@EU_Commission @EC_Commissioner_Breton There is no way Musk will comply with #3 - implement transparent policies. Musk has made it clear that all decisions are up to him and him alone, and he can do whatever he wants. Example: his policy toward Kanye West.

@daphnehk Your statement that for copyright violations, there are "a bunch of processes in place to try to keep platforms from just willy-nilly taking down anything that is risky" is wrong. A lot of "fair use" is taken down precisely because they don't want to be sued by rich corporations like Disney or Sony. YouTube even has agreements with copyright holding companies to preemptively take down material which might be protected by fair use.

@Teri_Kanefield Fox’s argument is nonsense. Publishers can absolutely be held liable for what is said in their publications. If Fox is right, there would be no need for Section 230 because it would be a constitutional right.

@lauren Cruz is dumb if he thinks that a Supreme Court decision would help his view. The question before the Supreme Court is whether or not companies are liable for content it publishes. If the Supreme Court says it is, this will lead to more self regulation by the companies, not less.

@lauren I would disagree on the decimation of suggestion engines. Suggestion engines would still be protected by the first amendment. As an example Fox News isn’t protected by section 230, but it can get away with saying a lot of untruthful things because of the first amendment. Same thing with the Google search engine.

@jameslove @lauren Apple's iOS privacy change has really cut into Facebook's revenue. Without complete control of its platform (like Apple/Microsoft/Google), Facebook is at a disadvantage.
