       @art yes to the first bit, no to the second bit.While the promise of value can be wrung from current tech it will be. The question of future advancement was always iffy but now that research papers are getting published it's becoming clear that AGI isn't just a matter of scale, It's that the best we have is in no way good enough to even increment much further.
