It is also very good."The Children of the Sky" is third published AND third chronologically. I wouldn't call it a huge turd, but I believe it to be lesser than the first two, perhaps not by much?

@futurebird His 80s views on wealth read to me that Rich People were very awful, but the *concentration* of wealth would be more in faceless/namesless/all-replaceable-parts corporate entities, making Rich People outliers/near-extinction. The mercs are almost always corporate. The Soap Opera is likely from SenseNet (another Sprawl-world corporation).You're right things would be different now. I know SmartOS has paid-support options (though usually we support #Triton Data Center deployments).Also #illumos distros include dedicated appliance/device user like @oxidecomputer 's Helios or RackTop's BrickStore.That help?
