@grammargirl No! But I only click a Google sponsored link if I feel like I *want* that company to pay. For companies I like, I find the organic link to click. Do you do that?

@grammargirl I'm adding "inexcusable vulgarism" to my rotation *immediately*.

@grammargirl That is interesting, because its use to denote "change" is often pretty technical. I work in software design, and it is only in very technical discussions that we use the term "delta" to mean changes. If I'm talking about changes to a document we're working on, I'll say "changes." But if a metric has changed (say, our median latency has gone up 100ms), I'll ask "how do we explain the delta?"

@grammargirl I would LOVE to listen to a 99 Percent Invisible on the theory of house numbering. I find it interesting how quickly, when I'm entering an address online, a web form can suggest my entire address. Heck, even the GPS in my 11 year old Honda can do it. It implies to me that there is an enforced distribution of numbers (especially the least significant digits) so it's easier to solve problems like FedEx did today. Glad you got your package!

@grammargirl this was fantastic. (and, as a social media follower AND an owner of your book...I will say, you don't mention your podcast often enough. Subscribed!)

@grammargirl Jon Carroll was a fantastic columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle who periodically ran a mis-heard lyrics column, and he called them "Mondegreens." (there's a story behind that, of course--he's a raconteur extraordinaire). So I'd suggest something like a MNDPL8T (pronounced "mondeplate").

My eleven year old stumped me today: "Is 'we' the plural of 'I?'" I don't know! @grammargirl , help!

@grammargirl @SeismoAllegra I feel exactly the same way. I *loved* the question. And, by the way, I loved that he asked it because he has just started learning Spanish. It's making him think about grammar for the first time. What is a plural? What is conjugation? It's pretty cool.

One great thing about the Fediverse compared to Twitter is that on Twitter, I never knew if my posts got ignored because of the algorithm or because my content sucked. At least here I know it's the content.
