@cigarBGuitarEfx Cops took two hours to show up to an attempted abduction of a girl in my city, in part because they closed all but the central station for dispatch. FTP. Also, someone drove a truck into a rural station because they simply wouldn't respond to a callout. I shudder to think of police provided by the market tho. Everything we've privatised here is way below standard now.

@codesections @measlytwerp both outcomes follow from this framing. The "... so you can do xyz freely", and the uncaring silence when that same person is faced with discrimination. Why? Because a third party doesn't have to 'care' to clobber someone's gender identity or use slurs that are second nature to them.

@codesections @measlytwerp This blindess passes the buck onto opressed people, with the 'not carer' assuming, as someone with potentially more power to change things, that this job is already done. They are choosing to be unaware of and complicit in future problems rather than use a position of privilege to actually help others.

@brandon @brejoc since I put ubuntu on my gf's laptop, the battery life is ridiculously long. It's a really, really shitty laptop too. Probably has a lot to do with the CPU and RAM not always being maxed.
