@mazigazi That was the lead in story in that Fortran Times article. Yeah, those were sillier though violent times.

@thomas_klopf I was at this nature center years back where they nursed wild creatures back to good health. In one cage was a starling making chicken noises. Across the way was a real chicken.

@thomas_klopf Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean that people aren’t out to get you.

@thomas_klopf I was in Berlin in 1991, staying with a friend in now former East Berlin. A big new supermarket had opened in her neighborhood. She loved it, but… though it was open on Sundays, east German law, it would soon start closing on Sunday, west German law. She and other East Germans she knew were really upset about it. I liked the bakery I saw in west Germany. Closed on Sunday, but had a bread vending machine outside.

@Unabart In Brussels, years ago, I was told that when driving down a Main Street, don’t be surprised if someone drives out of an alley at full speed, without stopping, right into the Main Street.

@Unabart I read years ago that if driving in Italy and you’re in an accident, you have to jump out and start yelling and cursing at the other driver, who will do the same. A crowd will form and they will take sides based on performance. When police arrive to place blame, the crowd will support their favorite and yell at the police to blame the other driver. Usually works. I’ve never been there.

@onan There are two brothers at Intellijel who are members of the church for maybe 30 years. They sent me photos of the membership cards. Should you invite them to join dobbs.town?

@thomas_klopf A few comments… If that’s from her imagination then YES. She’s very skillful with the medium YES. I know three people with advanced art degrees who can’t survive on their art. Few people can. She should pursue doing art and she should pursue skills by which she can make money. Art can be what she identifies with. A job will be what helps her fulfill that dream. As long as it doesn’t steal all her time. 👍

@onan You deserve a right hardy handshake for the invention of the word “preposterone.”

@armchair_theologian_menace That’s great. I made this in the late 80’s. And being divinely inspired, I rarely have to replace the battery for the clock mechanism. The art is from an Easter felt board presentation kit I got at a fundie bookstore. I hid all my occult jewelry before I went in.

@AleisterGiovanni I missed your welcomed disruptions to the reality plane and enjoyed your return a while back. But… be where you want to be, and I will still know that you’re out there somewhere.

@Alice Reminds me of the first time I went to the. Louvre in Paris, and found the ceilings more interesting than a lot of the art.

@bobcromwell I like how people, who probably are anti real science, like to dress up their stuff in science and math clothing. But I can’t figure out who their intended audience is…
