@novimatrem Tiling window managers come to mind, i3 being a popular choice but there are other less known ones out there like notion and exwm. Then of course there are ways to configure key bindings for just about everything. Some popular DEs and WMs have them available but they are just hidden somewhere.

@mike I fear there will be a lot more issues similar to this for Windows 11. I have already loaded it up on a non-qualifying system to see what the hype was all about. It is basically just a locked down version of its predecessor. Less control, more bloat. Tbf, I am not surprised by any of it.

@mike @danrabbit After reading the responses, I think everyone here has great points. At this point, normies are simply used to just being handed something shiny that just works. I suppose it would help if we could somehow get manufacturers to slap a free #linux distro in a computer/laptop/tablet and then charge less for it since a good portion of price has to do with the dope deals between hardware companies and the big 3 monopolies. 🤷♂️.

@GinaI am not a big fan of #windows11 but I have dug deep into trying to optimise and lock it down a bit. Some good freeware to help with security and reduce bloatware. O&O Appbuster and O&O Shutup 10++. Be careful with the latter as you could disable things you use. Also Wise Disk Cleaner and Cleanmgr+ help keep things running smoothly. Or you could just switch to Linux, 🤪😁

@futurebird Yours is a very profound, poignant and courageous comment for sure. If we could perpetuate your words, stand by those words, add to/take away from those words and then use those words against them through literature and action, I truly believe we could marginalise those groups and eventually create a new culture that would not desire to act in such a nonsensical way and demean those who tried to bring it back into existence. @stux Sadly, it's the corporate gun manufacturers, the NRA, the far right 2nd amendment preachers, etc that are spewing the vitriol about video games and what not. The US needs to start holding corporations, fundamentalists and capitalists accountable or this will never end.
