Is there a way to make an app permanent default for #Arch #XFCE?Example: I'm on #endeavourOS and I use #Thunar, and If I set an image viewer app as default to open images, it works OK. But if I right-click an image and choose to open with another app, next time I normally click on any other images, it will open with the last app I used, and not with the default app I set in the beginning ...Any ideas?#askfedi #askmastodon #linux #distro

Just learned one nice thing today (yes, I'm late into that):1. Opened my terminal in a folder where there are lots of videos2. Typed "python3 -m http.server"3. Jumped on my bed, got my tablet4. Opened VLC app and went to Network > Open Network Stream5. Pasted the complete URL for the file in my computer6. Question: today, I use #ffmpeg in #linux #terminal if I want to convert a video from #MKV to #MP4, using this command:ffmpeg -i file.mkv file2.mp4Problem is: it takes forever, but the main issue is that my laptop goes to 100% processor use and the cooler fans go nuts, looks like it will take off or set my house on fire.Is there any app that is more efficient for this?
