@lauren oh, whoops. It was a Kermit arms gif - I’ve been following your comments on this thing with growing amusement.

Went for a quick walk around the block after work today. Was good, a nice round 500m elevation gain.

I thought this was interesting. I suspect they’re going to remove the bridge, which forms a dam with fallen trees in heavy rain, and replace with large stepping stones, which seems to be their preferred option at the moment.

@rolle let’s just have them. I think without algorithmic feeds the viral pile on is so much less likely.

A solar powered, e-ink bus stop sign with real-time bus times. This is a very good combination of neat technologies.

@ausfestivus owned by Volvo. @franksting might be a better judge of if it’s “just” a Volvo.

@geordie sure it would be simpler but do we think olympics coverage could pull even 10% of what they earn by outsourcing to idiots propping up traditional media in a hundred countries?

@stfn @KiwiEV that is exactly what it is! It’s the (once upon a time) most-popular sedan in the country but with a tray on the back half.

I went for a swim in the ocean at Norah Head today. Managed to walk back out which seems to be a rare skill this weekend.

Ugh, looking to change electricity provider, and the already-complex process of estimating my costs has gotten worse with “Demand Pricing”: Take the most you used in any ½ hour period, double it, then multiply that by a demand rate, per day for the whole quarter.I used a maximum of 5.2kWh so that’s ~70c per day extra in winter “demand charges”. It’s easy to look at these two sentences Dutton uttered this morning, and very clearly understand why his campaign is tanking:“Labor’s run this negative campaign, but Australians are happy to see through that,” Dutton said on Weekend Sunrise.“Australians know that in their own households they’ve gone backwards and that they can’t afford three more years [of Labor].”#auspol
