       @futurebird @Sheril I say we listen to bothsides, both the pro-polio side and the anti-polio side. You never know, maybe the pro-polio people have some good points.Also, I want to never learn anything or ever move on once it's established beyond a reasonable doubt that polio is bad. I just want society to sit here, trapped in endless, idiotic debate for its own sake.I'm a centrist.

       @futurebird It won't help with congestion though, simply make it more expensive for working class commuters.It's already quite expensive to enter NYC, that has not reduced car traffic at all.It was a decision made out of greed, not out of interest for making a more livable city.

       @tante AI is the ultimate conclusion of the contempt tech bros have always had towards art and other creative human pursuits or social studies.AI devs are those idiots who sat in high school english class and whined when the class was learning about subtext and symbolism, angry that the writer doesn't just write explicitly what they mean all the time. Who would look down their nose at things like art and humanities because those subjects don't lead to some immediately monetizable product.

       @Nonilex When all this is done, and we get reasonable leadership, we need those leaders to ignore the Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity and arrest Trump and co. for these crimes.If the court wants to argue against the contradictions of their own ruling to try and stop the arrests let them.

       @futurebird Majority Report is an excellent all around progressive, morally and intellectually consistent news commentary outfit that has a lot of value. They speak with all manner of journalists, politicians and experts on their show.The stream on large platforms for free, but also have their own basic app where you can listen live and send comments to the show, if you want to avoid YT etc. Can't say enough good things about their ability to give relevant context to the news.

       @OliviaVespera @jb @evacide Phones can be surveilled even when powered down, if you must have a burner, practice keeping it sanitary as possible; purchase it in person with cash, don't activate or ever use it at home or work even to setup (consider using public wifi for setup). And importantly, when it's not in use keep it in a Faraday bag/box (there are instructions on how to DIY one online).This way you can bring it to a protest and minimize any kind of location history associated with it.

       @OliviaVespera @jb @evacide Also keep in mind that cars that use roadside assistance/Starlink can potentially be transmitting location data. So assume your car is a data point as well that can be associated with a phones movement if it's newer.And obviously, public or private cameras are everywhere these days. So that's something to be aware of, facial tracking, gait etc.You can't mitigate everything because we live in a police state but the goal is always to make it more difficult/noisy.
