@futurebird @tusk81 He's also preparing the groundworks for the next "others" to go after once republicans are finished with all the "colored" people. Fascists always need someone to direct the anger against. It'll end once the couple hundred billionaires have the whole earth and it's too tiresome to fight any longer, just distances too great and resources for robots are running out.

@kura @ShadowJonathan @4censord I rest easy in Debian stability. Beauty of a thing, really. You can mix and match all kinds of repos with priorities on what software gets installed from what repo (including experimental), by using apt pinning. Vast majority of stuff is stable, a few packages are from testing, haven't needed experimental for anything for years.

@wjmaggos @Daojoan Stopping giving arms to Ukraine effectively means killing them. Pretty sure Russia will finish what they started, just as they have with dozens of small nations that are either fully killed, dispersed in Siberia or have completely abandoned their culture and language for russian. Doesn't matter that they have though since they're still considered expendable subhumans by true russians. Most soldiers forcibly recruited are from the edges of the empire. Moscow is almost excluded.

@futurebird The main problems would occur if US tried to instantly drop all its international obligations. The world would most likely be overtaken by the numerous (wannabe, like Modi) dictators (Putin, Xi) because nukes are the only thing keeping those people in check. Most EU countries etc don't have the sense to increase military spending nearly enough or to cooperate with allies on a large enough scale militarily to replace US protection.US would need to form a transition agreement.

@futurebird @yurnidiot Obvious would be to teach them touch typing and how to change keyboard layouts in case some of them really struggle. Dvorak layout solved any touch typing problems for me, learned on gtypist for an hour a day for a week and got to over 100 wpm. There's quite a lot of touch typing exercise games around too. Typing of the Dead comes to mind.

@futurebird @yurnidiot Had someone simply shown me in school that there are different keyboard layouts, I would have taken it from there. As it was, I discovered it only in my twenties through working with Linux, having wasted tons of time typing slowly and painfully on qwerty. Dvorak makes sense for me, hands alternate between vowel side and consonant side. It's much faster and I've never gotten tired typing on dvorak layout.

@futurebird @apophis @yurnidiot Never had a physical dvorak layout keyboard. For the time that I was still learning (special characters took a little longer to get used to than letters) I pried the keycaps off my usual high profile non-mechanical keyboard (low profile ones have very delicate keycap mechanisms, can't be pried off) and put them on in dvorak layout. Used a flat head screwdriver to lift the caps gently straight up.
