When you have cool tech with convenient extras:"The key insight here is that you can use this set of fast neutron reactions to make really large quantities of gold while satisfying the fuel cycle requirements of the system," Rutkowskihttps://futurism.com/fusion-startup-turn-mercury-gold

@cjd okay, so AMD and Nvidia owned by same extended family. That's an impressive feat.

Hi @EUCommission do you know that the "Up-to-date link" to the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, points to a broken link, claiming that it does not (or no longer) exists.https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/treaty/char_2012/oj/engI assume this one's still valid. ๐

@cjd thanks, good point. I wasn't being precise but also hadn't considered the difference.

@cjd isn't it "just" a consequence of rebelling against the current situation? (Granted, rebelling w/o carefully selected targets, maybe.)

@cjd hmm... I'm thinking that when civilization starts to go in decline, people will oppose in any way imaginable, hence also in the more irrational/unexpected ways. So, as consequence of decline of civilization, rather than it being a cause of the decline/destruction.Also, often decline seems to correlate with a pattern of "infinite reinforcing actions for finite resources/circumstances", i.e. you optimize for infinite growth based upon finite resource.

@cjd I started watching, but I find it to start as a few people diving very deep into a subject that they apparently had years to talk about. They pick some highly specific subject to discuss while they have countless concerns and assumptions already, and there is no larger context or framework to place this in.This even starts out very different than I expected, i.e. completely different area of concern with no justification for this highly specific selection.Sorry. This is not for me. ๐

Apologies to any casual readers who stumble upon my messages that are rude in nature and usually directed to certain abusive people. There are a number of people who are actively involved in long ongoing harassment and in some cases abusive practices, who refuse to even communicate unless through social media. These are hateful people pretending to have good intentions, though in practice shy away from hardly any kind of shitty behavior and are very opportunistic and hypocritical in actions.

@cjd it seems a lot like it he's simply offering the truth. Even if you position it as an analog, what are you really saying? I get the impression a lot of the unspoken stuff is also very dependent on religion and/or religious beliefs.

@cjd but then, the "no going back to innocence" has unspoken assumptions and connotations, doesn't it?Doesn't this also tie in to the morality discussion: would you do bad things without the threat of hell? (I.e. "[..] without the leash.")Or as someone said, paraphased: "I'm an atheist. [..] I do all the raping I want. And the amount of raping I want to do is 0 (zero)."

@cjd I have some suspicion I know what route that is and I addressed that months if not years ago already. Everyone refuses to listen ans just continuous the shitshow. (Though I am bothered by the fact that this seems to be a strong hint that you clearly have understanding of what's going on.)

@cjd weirdly, I was frustrated smth like 3 days ago for the same thing .. like .. people trying to lecture me on or attack me for so many things, where every time, the point they try to make is wrong and/or their methods are wrong/questionable in one or sometimes many ways. ๐And I'm correcting them on definitions, explaining context, etc. to the point that I'm educating my attackers in the hopes that they becomes less obnoxious assholes. ๐ฎโ๐จ

@vga256 Alan Kay's definition resembles fibers/user-threads/green threads/coroutines/goroutines as defined in programming languages. In an earlier post I also emphasized that I think Concurrency is a key concern of OOP rather than the triple traditionally defined. In part because it is a unique dimension of programs that can be optimized for by compilers but programmers benefit from if they can properly express it as the 'concurrency' design aspect.

@vga256 'concurrency' because it introduces an aspect of indeterminism to a program's logical control flow.
