A Democrat just posted about how terrible McConnell is and how he should resign because of health issues. When I agreed and then pointed out that the same should be true for Biden because he has no clue where he is half the time and he is also terrible because of multiple terrible policies that he worked hard to pass while in the Senate, they blocked me. This is cult mentality. Folks, if we keep electing the same kind of people to office, NOTHING will ever change in this country.

It's starting to look like I will no longer be employed over the next couple of weeks. I would love to find something in WordPress, Linux, Open Source, Security, etc. Junior roles are okay. Like I mentioned a week or two back, I just want to get back into some work that makes me happy. My current role is stressful, pays terribly, and with the possibility of losing it over the next couple of weeks, my anxiety is going through the roof. Thanks for any help you give. ❤️

Since I lost my job, we had to go back on my wife's company's insurance plan. Almost $1,900 a month. We can't do this.Sorry Americans, but the United States is the worst country on this planet. Our government doesn't care about any of this country's residents.

@dangillmor This is absolute bullshit. A vote for Jill Stein is a vote for Jill Stein (or any other candidate they choose to vote for). I am absolutely sick of Democrats blaming third-party voters for the issues within their own party. Here's an idea: Fix the fucking problems in your Party. People are voting for other candidates because they are increasingly becoming sick of the broken, corporate two-party system in the US.

I'm an American and now actively looking to move to hosting, email, storage, all data services, actually, to companies that are not located in the US. I'm already using @Tutanota for my secure and private email. Currently looking for web hosting, preferably based in Canada. Probably storage services based in Canada, as well. I think I'm going to give hosting my own Mastodon instance a try. Well, not "self-hosting", but using @mastohost. A lot of people I follow here on Mastodon are using their service and are extremely happy with it. I just need to get myself to decide if I can really afford it before clicking that "Buy Now" button. When you're unemployed, even $9 a month is a lot of money.

I've been using @altbot to help with adding text to my images. When you post an image, Altbot replies with a comment that includes the alt-text for the image. You can then edit the post and include the alt-text. It's been really, really helpful.
