If @ubuntu isn't going to update packages "due to phasing", then why am I even being shown the updates that are available when I run apt update? I've had the same message for 2 days now. It would be nice to update the packages.

I've spent the past couple of days moving to OpenZFS on my home server. I won't even pretend that I completely understand what I'm doing but thanks to @JoeRess, @allanjude, and @jimsalter over on the @25admins podcast, I was able to get the project started and feel pretty confident that I'll actually get it finished (or not swear too much during the process). 😂 The @LateNightLinux family of podcasts are some of the best out there. I'm looking for web hosting that is based outside of the US because of, well, obvious reasons. Can anyone recommend a host? I can search for hosts outside of the US but I have no idea how good they are. Thanks!

After 10 months of unemployment, I've only had 3 interviews. Today was the third. I had an interview with an Open Source company that I "used to" respect. The person conducting the interview asked that with my years of experience, why did I apply with their company? I respect the work that you do and, if I'm honest, I'm unemployed, don't have healthcare insurance, and I'm broke, I told her. When do I just give up?

I'm leaving the @fosstodon instance. Here's why:I post A LOT about FOSS, Linux, BSD, Open Source Software and policies, and privacy/security. With that said, I also post some, but not a lot, of political, bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian infrastructure information, and even sometimes about my veganism and animal rights work. In all honesty, with the current political issues here in the US, it's hard not to post about it. 1/3

I've, thankfully, kept my Vivaldi instance going so that is most likely where I will move to because, honestly, I have no idea where else I would go where I would be allowed to post about multiple subjects.
