@stux Dear StuxI don’t like broccoli but my wife makes me eat it. Would you please ban her? And her whole family while you’re over in that wing of the Mastodon campus? Thanks. I’ll send their IDs. Watch this space.

@admin Can someone who recognizes that most users don’t care how the sausage is made explain in 500 characters or fewer what benefit would inure to users should Flickr do this? I keep seeing mention of #ActivityPub and I have to admit I have no idea what it is or why I care. I’m sure it’s a fairly simple explanation (the use, not the tech) but not anything I’ve paid even a smidgeon of attention to yet. Thanks on behalf of everyone too embarrassed (or indifferent) to ask.

@psiie @calculsoberic This is the second “sensitive content” post with a photo of butter I’ve bothered with today. Now blocking the word “butter” from my feed. Why do ppl do this?

@calculsoberic @psiie The misuse—or I should say overuse—of the whole CW thing on Masto seems to be a growing pain of the platform. The irony of your post is that—this being internet social media and all—undoubtedly, someone somewhere is offended by a photo of butter, for reasons that only a very skilled psychotherapist could figure out. Which is the part that I find quite funny.

@shacker I lost patience with the “listicals.” Not worth the $ to have to do all the culling.

@shacker True. But as an avid amateur photographer, I find most writing about photography awful. (I do really like dearsusan.net quite a bit—and highly recommend if you’re not familiar with it.) But I wouldn’t expect too much from Medium on the subject.
