@aral *sigh*For a lot of folks, myself included, it's not that "genocide isn't bad" it's that we get genocides globally and fascism locally.No one sensible is going to argue that Genocide is a good thing, ignorable, or worth persuing.It's that the US is faced with one genocidal war, or the US is faced with multiple genocidal wars as they spring up because the World Cop the US turned itself into is now someone who looks the other way for money.And I'm Canadian. As someone who isn't American I would like to point out that the US's problems isn't seen as a sudden fall from grace, but a deliberate series of choices that US citizens have made since at least the 1980s and probably since the Civil WarPointing that out is not being an enemy of democracy.America isn't a functioning democracy for Americans who aren't white middle class cis-het men - that's not treason, it's trying to help you see how bad things are and hoping you can save the US from itself

@futurebird If I might also add if you are going to ride an ebike get one of the motocross helmets with the piece that comes out around chin level. When one hits something one could leave the bike leading with ones face so it's going to need some protection.Also there are bugs moving through the air in most places - you don't want to hit one with your eye going at 20 mph. Visors are you friend here.

So at about 10 o'clock today a very Good Boi went off to wherever it is Good Bois go.After a sudden decline it was very much time, and we are telling stories about his Husky sassiness and 'tude, and when they do bark, which isn't often, how that pitch can go right through your skull.Mostly really good memories.It also brings to mind that when something you love passes it makes all that other stuff we're always so worried about seem a lot clearer and less complicated. #DogsOfMastodon

@stux Everything in the Netherlands just looks so nice - even the cities. I mean, I'm sure there are not so great parts, but as a Canadian I feel like there's so much we can learn from you - ecologically, urban space design, sociologically, and whatever the word for de-car-ifying the joint would be.
