       This is what happens when I spook a feral cat. I was trying to quietly walk up to where he was eating, but I stepped on a damned acorn. The loud CRUNCH-POP sent Obi scurrying away.We’ve been putting a second bowl of dry food inside the shelter on the back deck and have been gratified to see Obi sticking his head inside to eat that food. It’s getting down to below freezing temps at night, so we hope he’ll take the next step, realize that it’s warm and safe, and actually go inside to sleep.#MoggyHorde #CatsOfMastodon #ObiCat

       @ironcladlou @futurebird @schratze We have a Steller jay that makes the hawk sound! So funny to know that other jays do it. He also seems to do it to clear competition away from the bird feeder and places where my husband puts out peanuts.

       We have another “first” with Tilly. She finally got onto the sofa with us and didn’t immediately panic and jump away. She visited Randy, then she snuggled up behind me and stayed. It was wonderful. Tonight, she hung out on one of the arms of the sofa. She has another quirk. She wants to have someone petting her and/or standing over her while she eats. I swear, every time I see her tipped ear, I get annoyed all over again that someone mistook her for a feral. She’s about as far as you can get from a feral cat.
