i tried midnight suns through the tutorial section -- super weird game. i was expecting x-com, but instead, i got some weird slay the spire deck building game. i love deck builders so i'll keep playing (when i can pull myself away from DMZ) but definitely not what i was expecting from firaxis. #videogames #gaming #pcgaming #midnightsuns

@vriska okay but as toys have evolved over the years, especially since most of them are now digital or electronic, and my kids are strictly japanese culturally so they only want things from japan, i've started telling them that santa used to make toys but he doesn't have time anymore so he actually just has to do shopping the entire year and stockpiles all this crap in a big snow pit up in the north pole. otherwise the fiction just doesn't make sense. 😆

@killyourfm sometimes this genre is referred to as "postrock" but it's a pretty diverse label as it is -- from tortoise and mogwai, to pelican and russian circles. check out you will die in the desert - super good.

I'm reading this thread from Googlers who were laid off today and it's harrowing. 20 year veterans wake up to find their corp access blocked and an email to their personal accounts informing them of their termination. A lot of these folks said "I figured once I got to Google I'd never have to do another job interview again so I haven't updated my resume in over a decade, etc."Never attach your identity and self-worth to your employer.
