I just told my raspberry pi which is the center of my midi / synthesis /audio setup to go update all of its packages. Surely nothing will go wrong.

@onan So will AI learn, as (some) children do, not to lie because they don't like the consequences of being caught in a lie?I suppose that presumes there's a "they" there to not "like" something.

Mars? It is smaller than Earth and we have filled Earth up. Also taking all your material balling it up and walking around on it is a terrible way to arrange things. Especially when all the really good stuff is at the core where you can't get at it.What we should do is go to the asteroids, melt the stony and metallic ones, blow them into bubbles, spin them, put a window on axis and point them at the sun.Life is all about surface area catching sunlight. We could have so much more of that.

so who else today stopped a multi-million dollar science experiment by rebooting the wrong serverit's back up and the analysis routines just picked up where they left off so only a little bit of very expensive scientist time was lost and everybody was cool about it but --whew-- I think I'm done for the day
