@tante when politicians put out puff books it’s often a legalized form of money laundering, i.e. orgs that may not have been able to donate to their campaign can buy tons of books. I wonder if there’s a similar angle for the tech guys.

@vees I get the impression this meeting was more balanced than the first one. The NIMBYs weren’t able to dominate the discussion. Still it was literally and figuratively heated. No one in the audience broke out into fights but there was audible jawing throughout.

@taylorlorenz that’s Mastodon’s weak spot. The current way to “verify” an account is too technical and still pretty easy to spoof. I’m not surprised a lot of larger accounts dip out of here before too long
