@simon I believe the thing is that what we perceive as “personality” is basically a dataset. The GPT engine is like a massive word predictor that can see multiple timelines in parallel and choose one… but those timelines come from its training data.So, in order to change its personality, they would need to change its source dataset. Of course they’ve tried to program safeguards into the model but we can see they’re easily exploited.

@killyourfm well, to be fair, fear about powerful profit-driven mega-corporations having control over any technology’s future and the influence they will have over the population is basically what Cyberpunk / SciFi has always been about.I think we have many other technologies to worry about first before a glorified autocorrect.
