@adnan @aral I don't think this will happen. Fediverse is a PITA but right now, I'm not seeing much motivation for corporate interests to lock out smaller players with the excuse of spam prevention, due to the broadcast nature of most of the stuff on the fediverse.

@lrhodes I've done the same. I've also unfollowed and stop responding to a few people who I had previously had normal & friendly conversations with, but who began relentlessly posting AI art (specifically with the models trained using infringing methods) and just wouldn't stopIt's like a drug that consumes some small % of people, like gambling or drugs or something

@grips no plans :/ Ripcord uses a lot of 64-bit register stuff internally to sort b-trees. It builds and works for 32 bit in theory but it’s a lot of effort to test and support it, and also deal with more people downloading the wrong version, ask why it isn’t working, etc. for not very many users benefit

@mikael Cloudflare is the only reason I can have a website up. All of my stuff gets DoS'd. Sorry 🤷 (The other day, someone even scraped all of IPv4 to find one of my servers w/o a hostname pointing to it, just to take it offline behind Cloudflare's proxy. I had to configure the firewall with the VPS provider (not within my own VPS instance) to block all incoming traffic except from Cloudflare, as it was overloading my 10gbps burst limit.)

If a site asks you to mark or tag your art with "NoAI" or whatever to indicate it shouldn't be used for AI ingestion, don't do it.Don't create the expectation that anything unmarked is OK to use in a model's data set. The AI art shitheads want to change the default copyright stance.If you mark some of your stuff as "NoAI," you might be limiting your options for collecting damages from unlicensed use of your work. I'm not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice, but it's what I'm doing.

@neauoire i'm guessing what happened is that VLC made the OS change the sample rate (instead of adapting to the existing one) and renoise didn't adapt to the sample rate that changed under its feet.
