Blockers Run, Wadsworth, Ohio. I’m not an engineer but this stream heads towards the city’s wastewater treatment plant which I believe is a first stop before reaching the River Styx which feeds the Tuscarawrus River.

@BarrenPlanet I witnessed explosions of pigeon feathers often when I worked downtown Cleveland. There was a peregrine falcon nest in the ledge under my office window. I saw them dive into flocks of pigeons. It was great entertainment unless you were the pigeon.

@CliffWade I don’t use Twitter at all anymore. I had 2 accounts both over 10,000 followers (not used at the same time). I don’t feel a loss of news info at all…yet. There are so many ways to consume news now. Twitter’s strength was reporting from both media and bystanders as significant events were happening in real-time. I feel now that I follow tooters dispersed more broadly around the U.S. and world which may bring a strength all its own.

@Judeet88 @cobalt Did you ever read the Tommy Knockers by Steven King? I spotted the point of the spearhead sticking out of the gravel by the side of the road next to the railroad tracks. And I always grab interesting pottery fragments when wading in the streams.

@Judeet88 @cobalt The best fossil hunting we did was on Kelleys Island in Lake Erie not far from Canadian water and Cedar Point, a great amusement park. It also is limestone. So you can search in the former quarry or just go to the beach where they wash up to shore. There’s also an awesome glacial groove to see on Kelleys.

Bluebells beginning to sprout in Poland Ohio. This is something we look forward to every year. Easter is too early to have them in full bloom. Poland Woods is the best place ever for the Bluebells.

Sam and his dad walked at Johnson Woods State Nature Reserve just south of us in Marshalville. It’s the oldest woods in Ohio and it’s situated around a wetland. The trillium were in bloom and I’ve never seen as many may poles anywhere (none in bloom yet). It seems to be the perfect spot to spot bluebells but none were to be found.

@Jaycee Looks like the spot in the Allegheny’s in Western Pennsylvania I found a brand new Swiss Army knife. We we are a mile from the trailhead heading into the forrest and I glimpsed the water so went off trail about 50 yards and stepped on a rock to take a picture of the distant lake when I tripped on something. The holster was wet but the knife and papers were completely dry inside.
