       @milan in those cases, I tend to use lsof to see if there is any I/O on the files that it works on (or temporary files)

       @milan aww. Good luck then.I am really sad that S3 and the like are often cheaper than "normal", self administrated, blockstorage.Additional harddrives for root servers are really expensive :(

       @satan @milan after several questionable experiences with hosters during my youth, i tend to stick with ones which i know will have good support and products.I would rather search for a reasonable priced colocation service and just stuff two servers in two locations. Since the abdundance of PCI-E on AMD Servers even for the cheap CPUs, selfmade storage-servers got cheap :)

       @mjg59 two ipv6 routers fighting for the current route is such a hard to debug problem, especially in larger networks. while gradually migrating clients from an old suse box to the new opnsense router, i had to run two routers and this happened a lot. manually increasing the priority did help a bit, but actually disabling the RA on the old box was necessary to completely unfuck the network.

       @mjg59 I went drinking with the Ulm division of Nokia (who were working on meego) the day Elon fired all of them on a video call. If interested, i could ask if anyone wants to chat with you. Since I have not seen 95% of them since that day, I can't guarantee anyone will respond though
