@vsaw @mekkaokereke Society could have built anything it wanted during the era of zero interest rates. We could have had transit or green energy but we chose crypto, NFT's and Uber Eats. As Moe Szyslak said "It was either cable or the mechanical bull. I made my choice and I stand by it."

@CStamp @StillIRise1963 I am an aviation buff but not an expert. My understanding is that planes can run AC on the ground but that it costs extra fuel.Edit: Apparently the AC and/or the auxiliary power unit on the plane was/were broken. @mekkaokereke @carnage4life Cue the articles boomersplaining why Millennials and Gen Z buying cheap EVs instead of expensive gas guzzlers will destroy the econoimy and the American Dream. "They're not even tricking the $10,000 vehicle out with $5,000 worth of air dams, spoiler and mag wheel accessories. All they are doing is using the vehicle to survive. We had cool cars that we used to express ourselves and our identities back when gas was 29 cents a gallon."

@Wolven He'll land on his feet. You know who would hire him, maybe to run AI on Twitter/X. The question is, how much will regular people wake up to Altman's predatory nature and maybe decide to dig deeper into other people and companies. They walled it off into crypto and let the blockchain people segue to AI with no accountability. Maybe this will wake people up.

@Wolven I think the way to look at our society is that it's huge sports league. Some people want to play the viciously competitive, nasty game where the "rules" are written by the best players to help them win (and then they bend/break those rules to win even more). Those of us who want to merely live, instead of play the game are forced to play to survive. Sam is a winner because he went to Stanford and he generates monetary churn.
