@seanmcbeth Lungs can’t be repaired, and when they break for any reason your life turn into a living hell. Take care of your lungs. Never put anything in there that shouldn’t be there.Also the sum of all vices are constant. You need to replace it with something as addictive, but not detrimental.I recommend guitars. They will destroy your wallet so you can’t afford anything else.

@RonsCompVids What I wouldn’t give for an LG OLED with an open source OS running it. I could put only useful stuff in there, not a bunch of poorly written spyware etc.

@mos_8502 @RonsCompVids I do like being able to turn them off and stream *to* them locally. But that’s about it.That said something like an OLED still requires OLED software (to take care of the screen), settings, dealing with inputs and HDMI and decoding and arc and HDMI control stuff etc.Which TVs generally are bad at:(

@rolle G+ was built to monetize, the fediverse was built to communicate.Can’t tell what will happen to it, but only one has a monetary goal. I do think G+ had some neat ideas though, that I haven’t seen copied.

@mos_8502 @flexion A lot of old machines had a lot more character. New ones tend to be boring, slick, or light show (no hate, I’ve got plenty of Linux LEDs:)).SGI, Sun, Commodore, Sharp (X68000!), NeXT. Some cool stuff there.

@scottjenson Corporate environments usually have quite specific limitations. Time, money, deadlines, monetization, etc.Some write open source software to escape those limitations. To put the software front and center.Why can’t UX specialists (which is the correct term? Interaction designer?) do the same thing? Would be cool to see open source start with UX rather than main() {}.

There it is. My first ever computer. A #Commodore #C128 with a Swedish keyboard. The keys look a little sad. Haven’t fired it up yet, so I do not know if it’s in working condition. But the A500 and A1200 survived so hopefully it will chug along when I hook it up.

@ActionRetro I was kinda hoping that you’d read what was on those old drives. A cheap way to dump retro computer harddrives wouldn’t be a bad thing.Also you need one of those insane 15krpm drives. They have the craziest noises:)
