@peter huh, I had no idea! Watched this video from 9 years ago and went and grabbed my Cuisinart, which has a big plastic base. I didn’t even know the bottom came off! https://youtu.be/iYqo08IdKTwThe other path would still be to research if there are any “made in Canada” blenders & what their supply chain & commitment to repair-ability is like.

Listening to CBC The Current. Mayor of Langley saying they are building out “100s of acres of new urban land” (aka sprawl) so they don’t want to see multi-family homes in single family neighbourhoods.The argument is that they can’t retrofit infrastructure for SFH neighbourhoods. This is in response to new #bcpoli legislation around.

I don’t think it’s time for half measures. Zoning is just one part.You need financing, you need architecture / engineering / construction, you need materials. I am actually worried that we don’t have enough systems or templates in place for this to make an impact.Most people don’t know this, but rentals are a BIGGER issue outside of urban areas in the province of BC: only SFH, and not affordable to rent an entire house!#bcpoli #housing

What do I mean when I say templates?The “Vancouver Special” was a SFH design you could buy / build that is found all over the city. @clive @Daojoan Clive it could be enabled per server with different inputs — or webring style, per blog — both of which change the platform / network effects. You’re plucking items from a long tail which just isn’t going to be the same as a single platform kingmaker.
