@futurebird @rimesparse Perhaps he understands it perfectly well and it’s a ploy to get his followers to associate “seeking asylum” with “mental asylum”?

@foone If “geoduck” is pronounced “gooey-duck” then “GeoBook” must be pronounced “gooey-book”.

@futurebird At one point there was a tiny keyboard from a circa-1993 Dauphin palmtop PC at the office where I work. I think it annoyed everyone who tried to type on it, regardless of hand size. http://www.oldcomputers.net/dauphin-dtr-1.html

@futurebird I’ve always wondered that too. I’ve never heard the term “latch-key” in any other context. The wiki page seems to say the term “latch-key child” was first used in a Canadian radio broadcast, so perhaps the term “latch-key” is/was more common in Canada?Similarly, there is a New Order song with the lyric “don’t wanna own a key,” which is also an unfamiliar phrase to me.

@futurebird I was expecting an e-meter that can degauss your TV set, but Wikipedia says “Internally, a radionic device is very simple, and may not even form a functional electrical circuit. The wiring in the analysis device is simply used as a mystical conduit.” (?!?)

@futurebird I find it amazing that iOS has this capability built-in but it’s only supported through the “Shortcuts” app.

@futurebird The instructions are outdated (2020) but the functionality still works with the latest iOS. I used it last month.
