Been seeing a lot about #ChatGPT lately and got my first question at the library this week from someone who was looking for a book that the bot had recommended. They couldn't find it in our catalog. Turns out that ALL the books that ChatGPT had recommended for their topic were non-existent. Just real authors and fake titles cobbled together. And apparently this is known behavior. 😮

A few comments about people who don't know that they're using #ChatGPT to do something it wasn't intended to do. "End users" will ALWAYS do surprising things with tools released for them to test out. Good data for OpenAI, I'm sure. It's going to be interesting to see where Microsoft takes it, since they've invested a lot of money in this. Some integration with Bing is in the works from what I understand.
