@nipos @utzer @senfcall @andre @hostsharing ich hatte leider nur schlechte Erfahrungen mit Hostsharing. Für Schulen würde ich eher cyber4edu / infra.run empfehlen. Die betreiben BBB sehr kompetent und mit dem nötigen Know-How und modernem Setup.

@nipos @hostsharing @andre @senfcall @utzer In meinem Fall konkret: falsch / sehr inperformant konfigurierte Virtualisierung, mehr virtuelle CPU Kerne als vorhandene physische CPUs BigBlueButton VMs zugeordnet, Support während der Supportzeiten unter der kostenpflichtigen Telefonnummer morgens zwischen 8 und 10:30 Uhr nicht erreichbar, gelieferte BBB Server nicht DSGVO konform konfiguriert, das ein Core-Router stundenlang tot war fiel denen erst nach Anruf bei dem obigen Telefonsupport auf.

@nipos @utzer @senfcall @andre @hostsharing Das Genossenschaftskonzept bei Hostsharing ist sehr nett und unterstützenswert, aber hat in der jetzigen Umsetzung auch gewisse Grenzen und zu mindestens teilweise nicht die passenden Anreizsysteme für Entwicklungen innerhalb der Genossenschaft zu steuern.

@heisedeveloper #Gitlab hat in den letzten Nonaten eine absolut schlechte Performance abgeliefert. Immer wieder warten darauf, dass merges verarbeitet werden, sehr langsame Gitlab CI Container, häufig Fehlermeldungen oder Approve-Button-Klicks werden verschluckt usw. Die zwingen einen ja quasi schon fast, zu Codeberg oder Github zu wechseln oder selbst zu hosten.

This morning Deutsche Telekom (AS3320) did a configuration error, so that they stopped announcing their BGP routes except to Telia. When suddenly all the traffic towards Deutsche Telekom customers could then only flow through the connections from Telia, those were of course congested.Who did Deutsche Telekom blame: Cloudflare/Lumen/or they told customers to restart their internet routers.Of course they blame others instead of just accepting they broke it themself.#AS3320 is such a cancer.

@pjohanneson @mdreid Thats the one thing which surprised me too. I very much doubt being able to run current linux kernel on hardware with that little amount of memory and that limited set of CPU instructions.Wish we could have a discussion about this with the original author.

I finally succeeded in getting #OvenMediaEngine to work on a #RaspberryPi 5. This will be tested at #EverfreeEncore as a local video stream delivery / cache server. So when people attending Everfree Encore irl also join in PonyTown or watch in PonyStream while connected to the wifi/wlan, then they get the video stream from the local Raspberry Pi instead of each one separately over the shared internet connection (which would likely overload the internet connection).
