@bborn @TorahStudy @torah I don't understand your question. When the people decided not to conquer the Promised Land, the people who would have participated in that conquest but now chose not to were punished with dying at the age of 60, so that none of them were around to enter the land when it was time. It would be a new generation more prepared for the task that actually conquered the land.

This Shabbat, I heard a rabbi speak about his parents escaping the 1979 Iranian Revolution that installed the virulently antisemitic Ayatollah Khomeini as totalitarian dictator of Iran, forcing tens of thousands of Jews to flee to Israel in fear of their lives. Now Iran and the terrorist groups they fund, including Hamas and Hezbollah, are working to finish off those who escaped. Scary.

@JessTheUnstill The bombing is not of civilians. It is targeted bombing of only Hamas military installations, which Hamas has placed in apartment buildings, hospitals, and school buildings, in contravention of the rules of war. Hamas has been committing war crimes against their own people this whole time.

@aadmaa The casualty ratio in this conflict is lower than in many modern conflicts. Israel provides warning before attacks for civilians to escape, they provide safe routes for humanitarian aid, they evacuate patients from Hamas military facilities. They have done everything possible to minimize the damage of the conflict, but at the end of the day they still have to attack Hamas to stop the violence. There is only so much they can do to protect people as long as Hamas is still in power. The sooner Hamas is eliminated, the sooner their reign of terror will end.

@aadmaa Unfortunately, the only thing that will stop Hamas killing the people of both Israel and Gaza is forcing their complete surrender. Israel has arranged for supplies and aid for Gaza but reports say that Hamas steals it before it can get to the people of Gaza. They will need to be taken out before the aid can reach the people.
