@mjg59 Good grief, and here I was feeling guilty about only using half of the /29 mine gives me!

@textfiles I'm a simple man, and I have a simple rule - when I see a logo designed by Saul Bass, I hit the star. Or I guess 'smash that bell' in YouTuber parlance...

@mjg59 Ah, but, now we have that *as a service*. So it must be better, right?

@thelastpsion I presume you've already been sent https://www.ebay.com/itm/285840774543 about a hundred times, but just in case you haven't - PHWOAR.

@foone *glances down at keyboard that's going to be donating its caps to a new one shortly, grimaces*This would be a 'shut up and take my money' thing except I suspect my bank manager just woke up in a cold sweat...

@foone I, er, may have done this too a while ago, except for 200 of them. It only took me two years to get around to logging in and shutting them down though.

@foone Mine does that if one of the limit switch wires has worked loose *again* - the firmware even knows it's happened but carries on anyway! I can't recommend it as an approach...

@foone @luigithirty Entirely correct. I need to learn how to make my own, including slipcases, so that I can suitably document my homebrew machine...

@thelastpsion I was sad to receive that email during the week! Been using mbed since its early days; for quick and dirty mucking around in early prototype stages it was hard to beat. The suggested replacements all feel rather hairier in one sense or another...

@foone I choose to believe this is why you speak of that job in the past tense, especially since I suspect the real reason is far less amusing...

@foone The $ termination suggests DOS strings (inherited from CP/M and used with INT21h/AH=09h), rather than BIOS - originally the PC BIOS only had 'write single character' calls, although it later sprouted 'write string of specified length'.No I haven't been disassembling a 1983-era BIOS lately why do you ask.
