@pry looks awesome and it is an ideal candidate for css dark mode, on supported systems. It is readable and puts all attention to the content.Minor tweaks:1. More bottom margin between Posts/Rss links and hr. Let the space breathe a bit2. Make that hr a bit thinner and modern because default hr is not so pleasant3. If you want to adhere some modern guidelines for smaller screens, make line spacing a bit bigger on smaller screens (like... Um, 600px and less?)

@PixelDroid hey, i tried your app today. Interesting take, i like it. Minor bug: disabling storage and camera access makes the app unresponsive when selecting camera icon in app. Maybe it is related to this issue: https://gitlab.shinice.net/pixeldroid/PixelDroid/-/issues/305 ?

@BrodieOnLinux the only way to read the news is by using Rss/Atom reader! Btw Podboat is great as well but i do not listen to podcasts anymore.

@mike @pyre35 @jb @danrabbit plus Win10 offers many thing ootb today and it kinda looks like good bang for buck. I use linux distros since 2006 and those are my only and default OS and yet i was impressed to discover at work how much one Win10 Pro license gives to you. VM, Edge InGuard, antimalware...Plus, windows always had a million little programs in its ecosystem. Tiny GUI programs like the ones from NirSoft are appealing.

@pyre35 @AaronTheIssueGuy @mike @jb @danrabbit makes sense, yes. Let us observe what will happen next. Surely somebody will tackle that.Right now themes and new installers are all the rage. And new desktop environments :angery:

@PublicNuisance well then, maybe they can add biometric AND password entry option. Opt in, no fuss, for people living in countries where this is allowed. Maybe this can be commented on the github?@Tutanota i rarely pay for anything since i use free software mostly but i am doing that for you since you kick ass. Please continue the good work.

@linuxoid @unfa @christoffer i mean, we can upload music in form of videos to peertube, like people do on Vimeo and other places. Still, there are so many instances to choose from :)

@PeterCxy i mean, many articles are stating to pipe downloaded script via wget and execute it right away to bootstrap something. Yuck.

I dont mind the ads. I dont mind many popups. I do mind autoplaying videos. I have been using metered connection for 5+ years so i dont really understand why is somebody eating my resources on video loading by default if i want to read a piece of text.#webdesign and #webdev are crap in 2021. Please do not assume anything and follow wcag and respect low bandwidth users.P.s. there are many users without ad blockers and uBlock.

@codewiz no. This is not the way, especially from someone who favours KDE, which was and still is buggy. I love floss but we need to fix more and make everything more stable and similar to existing systems so we can reduce learning curve for newcomers. We need to get our high horses and stop thinking that people will adapt to our buggy systems. We have gnome which i stable but people want more options. We have kde which is buggy and people want more stability and less options.

@codewiz after so many years of customer service, i simply can vouch for users and their desire to have the least learning curve and stable environment. Whoever is not seeing that will have to have a hard reality check.

@codewiz sure thing. It is awesome that kde community is this agile, to use that fancy 2021 word. Kudos.

@Dan_Ramos @mrman btw, i believe that most people will have this same issue. If you are using only floss then you are covered by the way packages are used. You can mitigate latest variant in /etc/profile on linux based systems right? That can be done to some extent in Windows, using sys vars.Problem are proprietary sw packages and desire to pay for c**p. You cannot help but wait for them. I am still waiting for response from some companies on this.

@stux use filters to view Mastodon. Tusky offers that option, to add hashtags and view posts with tags.It is not the best solution but it works. I rarely read anything else to be frank. I am not a great person and i dont interact much with my connections because of that but at least i see little to no bots. And i interact there!

@zack @Gina @fatboy O&O Shut up 10+ [1] and WPD [2] should work to disable persistent programs and weird options. Possibly disable all Xbox stuff like bars etc. I would try it if you really want to try disabling programs. I am not sure will that affect the whole experience tho. There are others but these 2 have the best interfaces and simple options.[1] https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10[2] https://wpd.app/

Can #radicale be configured to use https://something.localhost on a local network, for locally connected devices sync? I dont like that i have to ask dhcp server to assign something static in local network so i can use #caldav and #carddav each time i want to fiddle with the system.I dont want any fixed points in a home network wil 6 devices, to be frank.
