@wiredfire @EU_Commission depending on automated “AI” works well, as learned by the Netherlands: https://www.politico.eu/article/dutch-scandal-serves-as-a-warning-for-europe-over-risks-of-using-algorithms/ - now, imagine how much more awesome it will work for tougher crimes…

@ulintl @admin @shevek same thing here. Today the responsiveness seems *much* better, and as someone who is in the same field, I know you took time from something else to deal with this, and I am very thankful! So, would like to make at least a token of appreciation! Thank you!

@EU_Commission it’s 60 cents to do so in the bank I use - but will be nice to have it by default! Thanks !

@lamp any Linux hosts to try with instead of windows ? (I did a fair share of IPv6 at some point but pretty much no windows for the past N years)

@lamp hmm might be worth capturing the packets that MS host is sending to see if it tries to do some test and it’s failing…

@lamp also the hosts are terrible with the selection of the correct prefix… because they don’t know better…

@lamp I have a bleak memory of windows not liking extremely short lifetimes, since technically with temporary addresses (that you create from prefix in the RA) you are supposed to stop using it after the valid lifetime expires… which for an any active app other than browsing would be … very short :-) If you have access to that, I would try bumping it to say 7200 valid and 3600 preferred and seeing if this makes it work, and then dialing it down from there…

@lamp if it blocked the RA you would not get your prefix, my guess it’s more with blocking neighbor solicitation/neighbor advertisement - iirc one is permitted to populate the neighbor entry based on RA (I think), that would explain the behavior … so it’s a bug in their firewall rules

@danyork @ricmac you don’t even need a paywall: I just tried http://stdio.be/blog/2015-02-20-An-Experiment-In-Overcomplication/ with ChatGPT and you can check the results… not so stellar… it looks like the URL leaks enough information that the ChatGPT is able to construct a plausible-looking story based on its generic knowledge on the subject ? (And if so - why would one demand a revenue share ? Technically, GPT just took the openly available information and combined it. Much like you and me could do.)

@danyork @ricmac and just as a second proof point, a couple of more “news” examples, including the one originally posted. As you see it made a “summary” for “my article as well”. Does it highlight how absurd it is to talk about revenue sharing here ? 😂

@simon @danyork @ricmac the fact that journalists fall for it highlights one of the issues with today’s journalism: trend to sensationalism and lack of critical fact checking. Anyway I just had an epiphany (see my other post I just made): LLMs are a perfect infinite source of emotional crack cocaine. The People don’t care about the facts; they care for the adrenaline kick the text gives to them. LLM will be able to make that with surgical accuracy.

@mjg59 when we did the “comprehension tests” interview at work, we would take a relatively obscure RFC we knew folks would not have read, which would be short enough to grok in an hour; and then had a troubleshooting exercise which involved the knowledge from this very RFC. It is far from perfect, but at least gives some consistency.

@EU_CommissionThe 30km/h limits are reportedly hard to follow by the drivers. So what do you think of saving everyone a hassle and adding a requirement that new cars had at least an option for an automatically GPS-activated speed limiter for such areas ? Safer pedestrians, happier drivers who don’t get fines…
