@progo @Moon IIRC and in my opinion, Q got swapped out at some point, and anons were like "it's a different tripcode, but it's still totally Q, don't worry about it, Q just lost his tripcode, it's no problem"

@progo @Moon that's also the time when "Q" got into unverifiable vague claims and numerology. In my opinion, any current "Q" is like "Anonymous": a glowie op, where a different hermit crab is now occupying the shell.

@sim ESG investment, companies "going woke" to seek ESG investmentPension fund managers investing in ESG instead of ROI, along with BlackRock, etc.You know how megacorporations keep making woke movies and products that few people buy, and they lose money, yet they keep doing it? That's because it's not about the customers or profit, it's about courting ESG investment. This is actually a huge part of why movies and AA video games have gotten bad in the past several years. Disney went into it, too, losing ridiculous amounts of money. Eventually, however, they run out of other people's money, and they've spent a generation's retirement savings on making shitty propaganda movies."burgers?"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental,_social,_and_corporate_governance

@sim although I linked wikipedia, their article is extremely biased and misleading, as all wikipedia articles on anything controversial have become. This video gives a better sense than wikipedia of what I'm talking about:"The ESG Cartel"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rW9ZuApy9KU

@eriner no, it's "Modern Monetary Theory" that you're describing, which is the ruse. The more recently floated idea that "taxes are just removing money form circulation and spending is just money-printing" is the scam, which a dismaying number of people have bought into. The purpose of that (imo) psyop is to re-frame the notion of debt or deficit or fiscal responsibility as meaningless, or even illegitimate. In order of legitimacy:1) Spending money you take in as tax revenue (fiscal responsibility)2) Borrowing money to spend it (going into debt)3) Printing money (3rd world shithole country downward spiral of inflation, aka Modern Monetary Theory)The psyop is to frame (1) and (2) as simply being versions of (3), making (3) appear more legitimate. From this you get insane ideas like the "Trillion Dollar Coin" to mint to absolve the government of debt.

@eriner @Pantangelini The only argument I see here is that public exchanges are vulnerable, which is true. But there was a time when Bitcoin had no public exchanges, and it could exist in such a way again. The "public ledger" is not personally identifying and can easily be obfuscated. Trading bitcoin can be completely anonymous and buying/selling it for cash/gold/chickens can be done without a public exchange. The value that it would continue to provide in a dark timeline is virtual value exchange including over long distances with a currency that doesn't inflate. The entire reason Satoshi Nakamoto "invented" Bitcoin was because of the rise of Modern Monetary Theory, and the need for a decentralized currency which can't be inflated as a hedge against it.(from Wikipedia)>On 9 January 2009, Nakamoto released version 0.1 of the Bitcoin software on SourceForge and launched the network by defining the genesis block of bitcoin (block number 0), which had a reward of 50 bitcoins. Embedded in the coinbase transaction of this block is the text: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks", citing a headline in the UK newspaper The Times published on that date. This note has been interpreted as both a timestamp and a derisive comment on the alleged instability caused by fractional-reserve banking.

@eriner It's actually similar to the "starvation is the gun to the head of the worker under capitalism" thing that Marxists like to say.The idea is to create a false equivalency between metaphorical and literal coercion, and a false equivalency between nature's "coercion" and coercion done by humans. The goal is to get people to believe that coercion is inevitable no matter what, so they accept the literal gun to the head and literal slavery in place of "wage slavery".In the case of inflationary spending, the goal is to slide past the outrage and claims of illegitimacy and opposition to it, to skip over all that, to it becoming "the new normal" by claiming "well it already works that way, and it always has, so there's nothing to oppose!".Another parallel example that comes to mind is the "your privacy is already gone, so why try to preserve it?", when it's not already completely gone. It's to trick people into accepting the premises of the attacker, and preemptively surrendering because they think the battle's already lost, even though it's still ongoing.

James Lindsay predicts (and I agree) that coming up on the calendar of future CURRENT_THINGs is that unironic fascism will be the next CURRENT_THING that NPCs will be updated to embrace."Why does it matter to have this skepticism or cynicism? Without falling off the cliff- on either side. Without falling off the left cliff into Critical Theory about all of everything. Or fall off the right cliff, into this kind of reactionary fascist thing... which by the way, the pendulum is starting to swing that way, we're seeing Nazi stuff all over the place now. I think that the masters of the universe are going to switch from communism to fascism next, and push it really hard, and the money is going to go that way, and everybody that's on the left is going to be super-confused, except most of them will surprisingly get on board. They just spent 10 years telling everyone to punch a Nazi, and when the chip comes out and plugs back in with a swastika on it, they're going to go be Nazis."https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvgR2MHqucI

and to anyone who thinks that's a good thing... enjoy suffering the same fate as all the previous CURRENT_THINGs when they move on again. Enjoy being dumped like Ukraine. It'd be like being a rebel group in a 3rd world country that's so happy the CIA will be funding and arming and training them. We know what happens to those groups when they're no longer useful.

It will be interesting to see if white supremacists take Soros money and decide that Soros was /ourguy/ all along. I think they will, because they're just race-marxist SJWs who only care about power at the end of the day.

@sim @duponin Queer is a political concept, and is not directly any particular sexuality or sexual orientation. It's zealous opposition to anything "normal", as though for it's own sake. It's necessarily subversive, in the cultural marxist way (so it's "radical").It's intentionally ambiguous and fluid, for the postmodernist reason that being definable is an attack surface; in other words, if your position can be defined, then it can be criticized. In my opinion, it's reactionary because it is defined something like "What's considered normal right now? Well queer is the anti-whatever-that-is". This means that "normal" determines what "queer" does as its antithesis. Its ambiguity is also used to promote pedo stuff, because pedo is the ultimate "can never be normal" thing, and so is very queer. Activists use queer to mix pedo with LGBT by preying on people's assumption that it's a sexuality or sexual orientation.A big reason why it's political is the same as "political lesbianism": In political lesbianism, a straight woman will try to become lesbian or bi, not because they want to or because they have that orientation (they don't), but rather out of a sense of morality, that being lesbian is political progress for a better world (in their view). Queerness, likewise, isn't liking something because you like it, instead it's liking (or disliking) something for political reasons, to be a foot-soldier in a grand war, and "do your part".In my opinion this is being a phony, and undermines gay rights because it means being gay is a political choice that one can convert themselves into, which means conversion therapy is valid and that everything anti-gay is valid and not morally wrong. Because then gay isn't an immutable characteristic like skin color and has no civil rights basis.

@sim Absolutely. This attitude that "the advertisers" are some kind of sugar-daddy philanthropist which gives money out of the goodness of their hearts and must be appeased at all costs, is ridiculous.Companies buy ads because they think they'll make more money as a result of the ad, than they spent on it. Disney or Hollywood stopping buying ads will hurt themselves as well, and the price of buying ads will go down, and some other companies will buy the dip and eat Disney's lunch.I agree with Elon that the threatening to pull ads as a block, is similar to blackmail, and I'm glad he's calling their bluff. It's not trading if either party can't walk away from the table with no deal, it's coercion.

THIS IS AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS AND EVERYTHING ELSE MUST GET OUT OF THE WAY OF THE TRANSITION TO IPV6!Sent from my ipv4 address.
