@shadowfacts this is a feature I would definitely appreciate. I don’t follow many hashtags but it would be helpful to see how the post ended up in my timeline. Currently that means going to the users profile to see if I’m following them or not when I’m not sure.

Looking for some #worldofwarcraft advice. I've decided to check the game out after leaving during Pandaria. I was going to try and see some of the content I missed since then with my now level 35 mage, but it looks like I have two main options.1. Follow what appears to be the default path of Battle for Azeroth to level up.2. Use Chromie Time to pick a different expansion to level up through until Dragonflight.Assuming I'm understanding this correctly, any advice on which expansion to pick? I've been completely disconnected from the community the last 10 years so I have no feel for the general opinion of "which expansion is best".It is honestly a little disappointing I apparently won't be able to play linearly through the story of all expansions.

@shadowfacts I’m liking the changes to loading posts into the timeline. The chevron seems to flip direction backwards from what I would expect though. As I’m scrolling down (forward in time) the chevron is usually pointing down to load older posts. Scrolling back up will make it point up again to load more newer. It would also be nice to have the option to chose how many posts to load each time the load button is pressed. I haven’t dug through the settings yet since the last update to see if this option now exists but will check after I submit this.

@oklomsy You make some good points, one of them being funding. The biggest issue is funding and IT tends to be underfunded in many schools as a result. This leads to what the cheapest employees can make work and lock-in to Google platforms for the promised low to no cost. Google Apps and Chromebooks were one of the worst technological evolutions to ever take place in schools. I’m a big advocate for open source and I’ve seen it used effectively in schools, but with how hard it is to find staff willing to accept the lower pay the pool of candidates becomes even smaller when moving outside of the software “everyone uses”.This is just my observation from spending many years involved with K-12 IT in the US both as a direct employee and a contractor.

@shadowfacts Thank you, I just figured out how the gap indicator works thanks to your response. I was expecting it to position up/down based on the direction I was scrolling, but see it is actually based on placement on the screen. When the gap indicator is in the top half it loads up, the bottom half loads down.I wasn’t aware of the 40 posts per call API limit. I was thinking of reducing the number of “load more” taps necessary when I’ve fallen a day behind on my timeline.

@shadowfacts It doesn't need to be, that is just how Toot and Metatext work so I was used to that behavior. That method isn't perfect either because accidentally scrolling as you press the button can move the arrow direction which has happened to me numerous times in Toot.

After recently unlocking the Forgotten Lands biome in Dreamlight Valley I wish I hadn’t saved it for last. Definitely had to make unlocking all the areas related to Frozen highest priority as I’m playing with my daughter and she can’t resist Elsa and Anna.Farming pumpkins definitely seems like the easiest way to make money in this game.I planted as many seeds as we could afford and just harvested them. Now I was able to enlarge the pumpkin patch for 218 plantings for the next batch and I should be rolling in coins like Scrooge McDuck soon!

@icecubesapp @MonaApp Of the new apps out there Ice Cubes and Mona are the most promising to me and how I use the platform. Also a fan of Tusker which has been in development for a long time. Toot! has been my preferred app for years but that may be changing soon.

@charadon @RL_Dane I’ve used Apache for this before with a simple couple line config. Dave looks great though, I’ll need to remember it for next time.

@oberstal I switched to smallstep for ACME support after managing everything manually with XCA for a very long time. I haven’t thought about it since I set it up so I guess that’s a testament to how well it works. I only wish there was a web console for it. I keep meaning to go back and write myself some cheat sheets for the CLI before I forget how I put it all together.Since I already had my Root CA I had been managing with XCA I simply signed an intermediate for smallstep for my servers using ACME.

@aLPHA @vga256 That is crazy, I had no idea. I used to have a copy of Worldgroup and MajorMUD from a friend at the local ISP. Was fun running the MUD for a few friends and playing with the sysop powers outside the official system. We figured out that summoning items especially rare items would take them out of the loot pool as if they had been properly earned which wasn’t great.I used to keep printed maps for navigating around. Eventually switching to the MegaMUD client made everything much easier and letting it play itself to grind was fun to watch.

@stux OwnTracks is great, but to map well when walking it would probably need to be on “move” mode which can use a good amount of battery. The “significant” mode pings location often enough to work well when moving at higher speeds.

@lore If you want to get fancy you could setup your own CA to issue the certificates. I use step-ca to issue certificates with ACME on all my internal services.https://github.com/smallstep/certificates

@lore That is frustrating. I haven't used CalDAV in so many years I can't remember what I used to use. I would run into syncing issues like you describe at times. I eventually switched to iCloud calendars once all my Android devices were gone.

@lore I think it might have been Radicale I was using so many years ago so it is discouraging sync issues still happen. I completely understand not wanting to run Nextcloud when all you need is calendars.

The fast loading #FFXVI makes me happy every time. I always completely close/kill the game after saving. From launch and hitting continue takes less than 15 seconds to be playing. There’s too many games with 30+ seconds of splash screens and credits that can’t be skipped.
