"Horseshoe theory" this, "fishhook" theory that...Here's my theory.People, by and large, are all the same.We all like to feel right and don't like to feel wrong. We all look at the world and try to smooth and simplify. We're tempted to pick "good" and "evil" and draw easy conclusions. Doesn't matter what it is: groups of people, sides in a conflict, etc.And we all like to hang around "good" people. But even more we like to harm "evil" people.

And again, easy conclusions.If an "evil" side does something, it's automatically bad.If a "good" side does something, it's automatically good.If someone opposes the "evil" side, they're automatically "good".If someone opposes the "good" side (in any way), they're automatically "evil".Anyone who touches "evil"? What am I trying to say here? I don't know really.Maybe just that it's always necessary to retrace your steps, to double-check your thoughts. To ask yourself, in this particular instance, whether you were right or wrong. Whether your feelings are justified or they're just gut reactions from thinking one side as "good" and the other as "evil".

@flesh I do think a surprising number of people find it exhilirating to hurt "evil" people, in one way or another.And, I guess I didn't put it that well... But I think it's fair to label certain actions as evil. Certain people and groups.But then you get things like "if an evil action is done, it's done by a group we deem evil, no proof needed". Or, as I mentioned earlier, "a person from an evil country is evil and should be ostracised".

Today's lukewarm take.If you make digital art (and I include music, writing, programming, etc), don't get rid of your old projects. Archive them, put them onto an external drive, or cloud backup systems. You never know when you'll want to expand on it, redo it, borrow from it, etc.

When I read old poetry, I sometimes wonder if people of XIX century (and older) really were built differently.Mainly in the "I don't really care if I live or die" way.I personally really can't envision myself taking a walk to the city gates to like, shoot at a dude until one of us dies, simply because the dude tried to slag me.
