Other than that, rehabilitation is the ideal manner in which these sorts of things would be handled—although admittedly some people are truly impossible to rehabilitate.

@bound2 @errante I 100% agree. Completely. We were subjected to rape by an adult for many years prior to reaching puberty. We still have flashbacks. He is still a free man because I cannot prove it occurred and the trauma caused amnesia that I did not recover from till I was years into adulthood.We will admit, our opinions have shifted on things over time as we have met pedophiles who advocate quite strongly against abuse. The fact is, there are many pedophiles who are survivors of CSA themselves. Abuse of that nature… It can affect the way the mind works due to the trauma. We understand that from personal experience being plural, and we respect people who are merely acknowledging their attractions and working to gain acceptance—not so that they can abuse others, but so that they can not be hated by society for aspects of themselves that they cannot control.And thanks for the apology.
