@john In the short-term, only bad. A lot of the things they want to do are impossible but they don't understand that until they try.In the medium-term, extremely bad. What we've created with capitalism and neoliberalism specifically has positive feedback loops built into it which are just going to keep making things worse.In the long-term, everything is going to be unimaginably amazing. Only that which is sustainable can survive, by definition. Everything else will clear itself away.

@john I'm currently using a combination of Google crap and ProtonMail. I plan to continue to use ProtonMail for e-mail for now but I will move everything else NextCloud on my VPS over VPN (so that it's not exposed to the Internet) when I get the energy.

@john Why are you trying to run desktop software on an embedded device? I think this is a "wrong tool for the job" kinda thing here. The point of the rpi is to make embedded development easier. No offense intended, but not sure how to put it otherwise. 😁

@john Generally speaking, ARM desktop is not a thing, although it can be done with a lot of work. I used to run PowerPC for my desktop. You have a bigger problem though with the RPi not just being ARM but really not being built for that purpose at all.
