@timr @epluribustrump @StevenDouglas There is no time frame for his « return » if we assume that he never really left, i.e. if we assume that the devolution theory is right. The only « return » may not be a « return » but a « re-election » in 2022 under a different status, like governor or senator. Or it could just be the come back of trumpism as the main political force in the arena through a legal process.

However, the principle of human dignity is superior and concerns everybody. It is not negotiable ; that's the spirit of the law, in France. The right to work is a constitutional right, but the work one does cannot infringe on this principle. That is how the Court ruled the case. Still, we had a good laugh when we studied the case at law school ! Great memories!

And I think that certain matters shouldn't be ruled by any type of courts. There is one thing that everybody here should know : the one thing modern France (government, not the people) loves to do, is to prohibit stuffs...You'd be amazed by the numbers of laws and regulations we have that aim at prohibiting things...

Around the same period of time, a lot of friends of mine, living in Europe, caught what they described as a really bad flu, and some of them have even been diagnosed with pneumonia (severe in some cases).Actually, one member of my family, living in France, was very surprised by the number of people in his surroundings who were sick (bad cold, flu-like symptoms). Same period of time...

Interesting.When I went to Brazil (2015, 2018, 2019), I didn't have to show any proof of vaccination.But last time I went there (2019), I had to do some fieldwork in the countryside. There were a lot of stray dogs there... I was with one of my teacher. He asked him : "by the way, you had your rabies vaccine, right ?". Me : "euh...". My teacher : "Oups ! I should have told you..." So, if you go to Brazil, get a rabies shot. Next time, I will.

@ThomasWic Japan, and especially Tokyo, is notorious for "trash houses", or "rubbish houses" ; they call them "gomi yashiki" (ゴミ屋敷)。Maybe you saw some when you were in Japan ? I don't know if it's a recent thing or not - I haven't looked into that yet.Compulsive hoarding is indeed a form of OCD. Here they put what the hoarded not only inside but also outside their house, which is what gives brith to those monstrous "trash houses".

@Debradelai @MadBeachBimbo Alright, I see. My Portuguese ancestors were to busy surviving under Salazar. My grandfather had to escape and go France in order not to be jailed... He was very thankful to France, and the French who warmly welcomed him and his family.

I am deeply sorry for your uncles. They were deported because they were not French or didn't have the chance to be hidden by some French people.
