@mike At a former place of employment, this is exactly what we had to do to send large files to coworkers, because all sane file-sharing methods known to mankind were banned by policy (but not by technical controls, go figure) in the name of SeCuRiTaE!!!!Oh well. At least the sending and receiving Windows machines involved were company-issued.

@art Posts like this, and the ensuing discussion, is how I know I’ve been using Linux for (far) too long.When I need plaintext copy-paste, I just select + middle-click. When I need rich text copy-paste, I use the regular C-C, C-V. 🤷♂️In fact, what’s suggested in the picture would be detrimental to my workflow, muscle-memory, and capabilities, so I hope the Linux desktop doesn’t jump on this bandwagon.

@mjg59 Why are keys committed to repositories at all?Also, “inadvertently published” is blameless language (which is a good thing) for “a developer pushed it,” which means a GitHub devs have the private keys on their workstations or dev VMs.

@jwildeboer The proposed content licensing is a good thing, actually.I was expecting something along the lines of DRM, like say, Widevine for videos.I was pleasantly surprised to see a GitHub-esque “choose a license that expires in two weeks for your post” proposal that will render legal commercial exploitation impossible.

@whitequark How do you make it this far into LLVM with your innocence intact? This thing got me right when I started out in C, following the K&R book. That book has a full implementation of a C declaration to English translator.
