@lunduke after much serious thought, wobbly windows using compiz, using the fire effect when closing apps is what every new phone needs. Ha! Take that blandroid OMG if you install telegram on it and the app folds away like a paper plane, even iPhone 11 users will be jealous.#CompizPhone

@lunduke your os questionnaire got me thinking. Amigas were so good in the 90s that a whole scifi TV series could be made on them for next to nothing (insert Babylon 5 logo here) Nowadays with open source and zero cost software, are there any current TV shows made on the likes of blender and what not. @chriswere I have been flicking through a lot of fediverse based chat and video sites since I work at sea, and most of the big platforms are blocked. Also I've been using Linux Mint so I'm in control of my updates. So far I've kept my bandwidth low so the office dont start banning all my tech fix websites. Even to go so far as to use IRC for news feeds until they blocked the port π I was wondering if you know of some yesteryear based (dialup speed 56k) tech I should be looking into. Cheers

@ChrisWere just listened to the opus podcast as the Internet is crap out in the North Sea and it was perfect. BTW for your music on linux, people always overlook Kodi which I find great as a jukebox type thing and is accessible on my android devices too.

@ChrisWere forgot to say, make sure you use icon wall to make it like a jukebox you find in the pub. For a simple mp3 player with good visuals, I still use Winamp 5.56 via wine. It was the best version before it had too much bloat.

@ChrisWere it's a bit overkill but nothing beats winamp 5.56. Xmms tried but if you give it a shot, you'll see what I mean. It does have some drawing issues on gnome, but for some reason it's lightning fast on lxde

@ChrisWere This is probably biased AF since I had an amiga 600 when I was wee. An amiga on android how-to and play through of the classics would be great. Amiga vs dos ports like the lost vikings or lemmings would show the greatness of the amiga sound and community driven ports

@ChrisWere basically anything amiga apart from robocop3 π .Would be cool if 68k processor (real or emulated)would be enough to view your website and read some fediverse chat or irc

@kev I think the next bullet point in that slide is more concerning. These filters, are they applied by individual users or at the server/instance level? This is the type of control each user should have lest we end up with just another centralised Facebook like BS
