#introductions Hello everyone! I quit Facebook in a public event organized by our Fripost a democratically managed email and cloud server association. Since then I feel a need to distribute things around like articles I write and important events. I just don't know how this works. Where do I start? Here? I live in #Göteborg#Sweden have two kids and work as a PhD studentin Cultural Studies, I do research on the #neoliberalization and #socialmovements.

I am writing my thesis in libreoffice. My supervisor, however is a conservative MS office user. Whenever I submit text to her the formatting looks good in libreoffice with docx format but when I get the document back the formatting is messed up. Images reformat and change as well as styles. Does anyone have good idea or hint to get good libreoffice MSoffice compatability? #LibreOffice #Microsoft I am not ready to change to Latech for the moment.

@josemanuel Thank you for feedback. Well, I mentioned LaTeX because I know that this would be a solution. I just don't have the time to learn a new text editor at the moment. Also, I would like to be able to share revisions and comments in a convenient way. I am on LO 7.0.4.2. I also tried to share my text through Nextcloud/Collabora, but sadly it did not come out good in my supervisor's browser. It is still a little hard on the processor and requires a stable internet connection.

@josemanuel Well she is on standard, centrally administered automatically updated windows computers. I actually have access to the same MS-word license. However, I chose to work with GNU-linux software only in my dissertation work and hence don't get support. The university really bought into the whole Microsoft model. I guess my old LO version depends on my debian stable system.

@selea @blogg tänkte väl det, vet att jag kikade på SteamOS till min son. Få se kanske blir det en sån där Steam machine i framtiden, även om jag är mer van vid debian.
