Question for you all - as an experiment, I installed #Ubuntu on a partition of my 2013 Macbook. Never used or installed #Linux before. Umm, now what do I do with it? Anything fun? I have some programming background but only at the PHP level of thing. Although I've done some command line stuff on the Mac, so I understand how that works. I started on GUIs so I find it clumsy not to use one for most tasks.Suggestions, please? :)

@jxself browsing, writing, excel accounts, a little drawing etc. I can do all that in Ubuntu already. I was looking for something more creative on the computing side of things. Maybe I need to build a robot :)

@Jessica @al @TechConnectify "you can also scrape your induction cooktop with a razor blade"holy fuck, don't do this. If you scratch the tempered glass, you have to replace the whole thing! Just wipe with a soft damn cloth. Never needed anything harsher :)

@Jessica @al @TechConnectify "most induction cooktops are portable"Not here, they're not. You *can* buy them, but mostly people have them built into their kitchen countertops. The portable ones available are okay, but only single burners, so not suitable for home cooking.

The dulcet kid noises are now to the point where I have the windows shut and the aircon on :(Meanwhile, my little black #cat is hiding in what we call the palace (a pet cube on her daddy's filing cabinet in his office), but just because she wants to be alone, doesn't mean she also doesn't want pets and love.
